Reshape your body. Reshape your life.
Whether you want to slim down, tighten up, have the body you used to have, or just look and feel better - we're here to help.
Tired of walking on that treadmill and getting nowhere, literally?
If you watch what you eat and find those extra miles are getting you nowhere in terms of your body shape, Smartlipo MPX may be just what the doctor ordered.
The treadmill is no match for Smartlipo MPX, the latest innovation in LaserBodySculpting. Smartlipo MPX provides maximum results for both fat removal and skin tightening1. You can finally have the body that you have always wanted.
How does Smartlipo MPX work? This laser assisted lipolysis procedure is performed using a one millimeter cannula (or small tube) inserted into the skin. The laser fiber inside the cannula delivers energy directly to fat cells using 2 different wavelengths, causing them to rupture and drain away as liquid. The dual wavelengths also allow for more effective tightening of your skin1.
What areas of the body can be treated? Smartlipo MPX is ideal for areas of skin laxity, such as the neck and arms or for removal of fat from the abdomen, love handles, saddle bags or inner and outer thighs.
What are the advantages of Smartlipo MPX over conventional liposuction procedures? Both treatments effectively remove fat, but conventional liposuction can leave behind unsightly pockets of skin. The Smartlipo MPX wavelengths have been shown to increase collagen and reorganize collagen fibers to tighten and improve the quality of your skin.
Is there a recovery period? Smartlipo MPX is a minimally invasive procedure which usually requires only local anesthesia. Some light trauma can occur, but you will be able to return to work in a couple of days and resume exercise after two weeks.
Am I a candidate? Smartlipo MPX is designed for removing unwanted fat and tightening the skin1. The ideal candidate is in good health and normal body weight.
Smartlipo treatments are the most sought after cosmetic procedures performed today2.

 Matrix Fractional CO2 Resurfacing
Repair and restore your skin to an age-resistant beauty level!
As a person begins to age their collagen production begins to decline, which leads to the breakdown of the skins underlying support
structure. Daily exposure to UV rays and other environmental elements can cause the skin to become discolored and premature wrinkles
may emerge. Treatments with the matrix CO2 Fractional laser will enhance the skins strength and elasticity. The skin will have a
smoother, tighter texture and pigmentation problems will begin to diminish.
How Matrix CO2 Fractional Technology Works
The high speed UltraFine Fractional scanner will direct a grid pattern of tiny pulses of light at the skin. Each pulse delivers a
column of energy that can reach the skins dermal layer. This stimulates a natural renewal process of the body’s own collagen. Also,
because the laser beam has been fractionalized, small areas of untreated skin will be left between the treated spots. By strategically
performing the procedure in this way, the healing process is accelerated.
Treatment Outcome Desires
The Matrix Fractional CO2 Technology is designed in such a way that Dr. Kim-Abroms has precise control over the intensity of the treatment.
Each individual treatment can be tailored to a specific need.
Is Fractional Resurfacing Right For Me?
Fractional CO2 Resurfacing is a safe and effective procedure for almost any skin type. Fractional resurfacing can be applied to most
areas of the body.
How Long will the Treatment Take?
This will depend on the area(s) of the body being treated. In most cases the actual treatment time takes less than 30 minutes.
How Many Fraction CO2 Treatments Will I Need?
One to two treatments are usually needed. If you do need two treatments they are preformed at least 8 weeks apart.
What does The Laser Treatment Feel Like?
Treatment sensations vary from person to person. As tiny pulses of energy are delivered into the skin, most patients will feel a warm somewhat sharp feeling and an immediate tightening sensation of the skin. Post patients look and feel like they have had a mild sunburn for a few days after the treatment. Topical numbing ointments and cooling devices will be used to reduce any discomfort during the procedure.
How Will I Take Care Of My Skin After Treatment?
Immediately after the treatment, your skin will feel warm. Ice pack and cool wash cloths are helpful and will also reduce swelling. Once the skin is cool, apply the topical agent provided by Dr. Kim-Abroms three times a day.
How Should I Prepare My Skin For The Procedure?
Do not take any blood thinners such as Aspirin or non steroidal anti inflammatory medication , for one week before your treatment. You should also avoid drinking alcohol the day before your treatment. Discontinue the use of Retin A or any resurfacing products on your skin for one week before your treatment.
Laser Hair RemovalLaser treatment of unwanted hair is a non-invasive approach to permanent reduction and long-term hair removal, specifically designed to eliminate undesired hair. The treatment will safely eliminate hundreds of hair follicles in seconds. Unlike many other treatment methods, Laser Therapy leaves your skin looking and feeling smoother and softer.
Men, women and children have been successfully treated. Treatments are customized according to hair color, texture and body location. Dark hair colors-black, brown and sometimes red can be treated.

Protection and Efficiency The GentleLase and MeDioStar XT reduce pain and maximize patient protection by delivering a short, targeted burst of non-toxic cryogen onto the top layers of the skin milliseconds before the laser pulse. Greater freedom Dynamic Cryogen Cooling reduces the need for cooling gels and expensive anesthesia for most patients. Best of all, it helps decrease treatment times, and allows for quick recovery.
The GentleLase and MeDioStar XT To understand how the GentleLase and MeDioStar work, it helps to know a little more about how hair grows and how laser light vaporizes unwanted tissue.
How does hair grow? Hair forms in a pouch-like structure below the skin called a hair follicle. What we see as hair is actually the hair shaft, which is the keratinized, hardened tissue that grows from this follicle. The best hair color for the laser light to target is dark blond to black. With advancements in technology we can now treat patients with blond, white, or even gray hair. The laser specialist will explain more during your consultation. Everyone's hair grows differently, depending on age, weight, metabolism, hormones, ethnicity, medications, and other factors. But all hair goes through three distinct growth phases:
Active growth phase (called the anagen phase), which can last up to 3 months. At any given time,20-30% of our body hair is in this phase. During anagen, the hair has an abundance of melanin and that is the key target for the laser light. To get the maximum result 5 treatments are generrally required to acheive 90-95% permanent hair reduction.
Regressive phase (catagen phase), which lasts about 3 days, during which the hair stops growing but is not yet shed. About 3 - 4% of our body hair is in this phase at any given time. Many patients report that hair starts to shed immediatly, and can be found on a towel following a shower. We recommend not waxing, tweezing or using any methods to remove the hairs following your laser treatments.
Resting phase (telogen phase), which lasts 4-14 days, at the end of which the hair falls out and a new hair begins to form. Following the laser treatment the hair appears to still grow. These hairs are in fact club (dead) hairs and within 3-4 weeks the new hair from another active growth phase will begin to grow out of the same hair shaft. Remember that even though the hair is growing out of the same hair shaft, the follicle growing is new and is now ready for the laser light.
The GentleLASE most effectively disables hair that is in the active growth (anagen) phase. If we get all of the active hairs each treatment that is generally 30 days apart, you would have disabled 20-30% of all hair follicles. Because all the hair in a treated area may not be in the anagen phase, more thanone laser treatment is necessary to remove the hair that subsequently enters the growth phase. Our goal after 5 treatments is to have sustained 90-95% permanent hair reduction.
How do the GentleLase and MeDioStar XT work? A laser produces a single beam of highly concentrated light. Different types of lasers produce different colors of light. The light emitted by the GentleLase and MeDioStar XT is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) located in hair follicles, melanin pigments give hair its color, and hair shaft. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment in the hair follicle- disabling several hair follicles at a time to eliminate or significantly impede the hair's regrowth - but not long enough to damage the surrounding skin. The GentleLase and MeDioStar XT's special contact-cooling hand piece further protects the epidermis (upper layer of skin). This patented method of epidermal preservation allows delivery of more laser energy deeper into the hair follicle. The size of the coverage per laser pulse is roughly the size of a 50 cent piece.
Additionally, the GentleLase and MeDioStar XT are able to treat a broader range of skin types than most other hair-removal lasers. They are delicate enough for a woman's fine, sensitive skin and robust enough for a man's beard, back, or arms. The GentleLase and MeDioStar XT effectively remove unwanted body hair. Traditional techniques such as shaving, plucking and waxing, provide only temporary relief and may actually stimulate hair growth. Electrolysis, while effective, often requires years of ongoing and frequently painful treatments. All of these methods commonly result in scarring, allergic reactions, and ingrown hairs. Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment inside the hair follicle without damaging delicate pores and structures of the skin. Because hair cycles through "growth" and "dormant" phases, and because during the "dormant" phase the follicle has no pigment, at least 3-5 treatments will be needed.
What does the treatment involve? The patient is asked to wear eye protection. The area to be treated is then shaved. A small hand piece, or "wand" is placed against the skin and a burst of coolant is applied as the laser is activated. The hand piece is repositioned and the laser is activated again. The size or the area treated will determine the number of laser activations, or "pulses", required.
What are the advantages over electrolysis? With electrolysis, the operator inserts a needle into the hair shaft with the intention of reaching the follicle, then sends a small electrical charge designed to disable the follicle. The operator then removes that particular hair with a tweezer. Hair removal is much faster with a laser as the laser is pulsed about once per second across the surface of the skin. Each "pulse" of laser light disables a large numbers of hair follicles. Electrolysis operators can only treat those hairs that they can see and which they can reach the follicle through the hair shaft. A laser treats any "active" follicle, even if the hair has not yet reached the surface of the skin, or if the hair shaft is not straight.
How many sessions are needed? The number of sessions will vary for each individual. During the initial visit, the laser light disables those follicles in the "active" phase of the growth cycle. Follicles in the "dormant" phase will not be affected. Since follicles cycle through "active" and "dormant" phases, additional sessions may be desired once the "dormant" follicles become "active". For this reason, we recommend a series of Five treatments.
Is the laser treatment painful? While some areas of the body are more sensitive than others, most patients report little or no discomfort. For more sensitive patients, anesthetic creams can be applied prior to the treatment.
Are there any side effects? Immediately after the treatment the skin will look pink and slightly swollen, similar to a sunburn. This will subside within 72 hours and the skin will return to normal. Occasionally, a patient will have temporary pigment changes, blistering, or scabbing. In the unlikely event of blistering, we recommend keeping the area moist with bacitracin. As with electrolysis, cases of scarring have been reported, but these are extremely rare. A test spot is the best determinant of how each individual's skin will react.

More about Intense Pulsed Light
How do I know if I have photodamaged skin? If you are over 30 years old and enjoy an active lifestyle your skin is probably showing signs of damage.
How does intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment reduce the signs of photodamage? IPL's work by focusing a beam of light to a target in the skin such as enlarged blood vessels and irregular pigmentation. The enlarged vessels and irregularities are removed without scarring or damage to the treated or surrounding area and the underlying collagen is stimulated.
Do lasers work on all skin types? Today's advanced lasers are capable of treating a wide variety of skin types.
Which other conditions are treatable by lasers? Elimination of red and brown blemishes, reduction of minor wrinkles, and a general tightening of your skin's collagen.
How many treatments are required? Typically several treatments are required for full face treatment. The average treatment takes about 20 minutes. Results may become apparent after the first few treatments.
Is the treatment painful? There is some minor discomfort associated with the treatment. In most cases no anesthesia is necessary. Such discomfort can be alleviated by anesthetic cooling gel and following the treatment with a cold air system.
How does Intense pulsed light treatment differ from CO2 lasers, chemical peels, and dermabrasion? Unlike CO2 lasers, deep microdermabrasion or medium depth chemical peels that remove the outer skin and require significant healing time, the IPL gently penetrates the skin without damaging it and destroys the blood vessels and brown pigment that are the cause of the problem. It also tightens the collagen and minimizes large pores.
What will I look like after treatment? Results will vary but you should expect your skin to appear reddened. You can expect to return to your normal activities immediately with minimal precautions such as sunscreen.
